Dr Rodgers has a wealth of experience as a leader of young adults, both as individuals and in community, and holds a vision for Selwyn consistent with, and building on, its traditions and standing as a leading university College.
He says, "I am committed to sustaining and developing Selwyn College as an inclusive, caring and self-regulating community of tertiary students. We pride ourselves on developing our students’ leadership potential, leadership of self coming before leadership of others. We provide a supportive environment in which students are encouraged to develop more of their individuality through collegiate engagement. We actively support our members' academic development through a College tutorial system, aiming to produce scholars committed to life-long learning and, reflecting Selwyn's motto, to 'passing on the torch of life'. Selwyn College is truly a home from home for its members – once a Selwynite, always a Selwynite."
